The Humane Society of the United States wants you to know that horse-drawn carriages do not belong on the streets of the nation's busiest city. This inhumane industry endangers horses as well as people.

Interesting comment from the NY Times 1989. The industry wants people to believe that they have never received a summons for animal cruelty. However, this article states that the ASPCA officers gave a summons to a driver named "Niles Quinn" for "cruelty to animals, horse abuse and using an animal in adverse weather conditions."

Also interesting name...I wonder if it is any relation to Christine Quinn.
